Japanese GP trophies to be kiss activated

According to ESPN F1 on Twitter, seen below, the Japanese GP winners will have their home flags displayed on the trophies after they kiss the trophy following the end of the race. 

How cool!!!!

 It's the end of break and we're back into full swing at Zandvoort.  Formula 1 The Dutch GP is a fun one! Last year, we saw 47 overtakes in just one 72 lap race.  The circuit at Zandvoort is just over 4 km and there's two DRS zones, one of which is around a corner. And as one presenter said during Free Practice 1 Friday, this track is known for being twisty, turny and tight... You can see where the DRS zones are at below, which is of course where we'll see most of those overtakes.  Formula 1 Our world champ whose home race this is won the Dutch GP last year by just 4 seconds over George Russell, but Mercedes other driver Lewis Hamilton holds the track record from the race in 2021: a 1.11.097 time.  We'll see what happens Sunday. written by: Randi May

Honda and Aston Martin to start partnership in 2026

  Leading up to arguably the biggest race of the season, a big announcement by Aston Martin had fans ready for a strong weekend in Monaco and hoping for an exciting future starting in 2026. On Wednesday, Aston Martin announced that Honda will become its Formula One works partner starting in 2026, supplying engines to the team.  Honda has had an off and on relationship with F1 for decades, starting in the 60s. They competed as a team from 1964 to 1968 and won two races.  After the death of driver Jo Schlesser at the end of the 1968 season, they focused on selling road cars to the public. Honda stepped away as a team until 1983 when they returned as an engine supplier.  Since then, Honda has supplied engines for Spirit, Williams, Lotus, McLaren, Tyrrell, Jordan Grand Prix, AlphaTauri and Red Bull.  Honda went on to have a second stint as a team from 2006 to 2008 but would once again drop out due to poor results and sponsorship issues. Alpha Tauri replaces de Vries with Ricciardo on loan

This replacement follows news of the team’s principal leaving at the end of the season. What will the future of Alpha Tauri look like?   Right around the time of Silverstone, rumors started to circuit that Alpha Tauri would be replacing Nyck de Vries with a well known man in the sport— Daniel Ricciardo.  Two days after that race, Alpha Tauri themselves confirmed it with a short welcome to Ricciardo on social media.  Many fans and drivers alike are happy to see this honey badger and his big smile back on the grid.  Nyck de Vries posted a statement about the news on Instagram saying he’s grateful for the opportunities he’s had in Formula One. He points to hope for a journey back onto the grid at some point to live out his dream and also says he’s taking a break from social media during this time.
