Max Verstappen Wins The Spanish Grand Prix

The Spanish Grand Prix is one of the the oldest races still being driven in Formula 1. In fact, in 2013, drivers raced the 100th, or centennial, Spanish GP.  It actually started as production car race in 1913.

Ferrari has the most wins from over the years, but there was no podium for the boys in red this year.

Both Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc finished in the top 10 in FP1, but come race day and the Ferrari's finished 5th and 11th respectively.

Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen led the track all weekend, from FP1 to qualifying, to every single lap in the GP. He also was rewarded points for the fastest lap during the race.

Formula 1

Seven of the ten teams this year brought upgrades to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which changed a bit this year to purpose a 'super-fast double right to end the lap', according to Formula 1.

Teams like Aston Martin kept a bit of pace, and both Mercedes' drivers ended up on the podium! Mercedes did land themselves a €10,000 fine though, as reported by TheRace and confirmed by Formula 1. This was due to a post-race procedure which George Russell and Lewis Hamilton did not follow in Barcelona. The two were supposed to stay in the cool down room behind the podium, particularly not to enter a certain area where only team mechanics, FIA and pre-approved media may be. The team pays the fine.
