Actor Ryan Reynolds and investor group puts nearly $220,000 stock in Alpine F1 Team

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have broadened the sports fields they're investing in.. and this time, it'll be lookin' more like a race track. The actors with Renault investor group have acquired a 24% stake in the Alpine F1 team, which is currently represented on the grid by Frenchmen Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon.

This places the team's value, they say, at approximately €900m. Alpine's season didn't start out too hot but the driver's are working their way up in points... and this new stack of money may help the team hop on some improvement for later on in this campaign and in future years.

F1 gathered the following quote from Alpine's CEO Laurent Rossi: “This association is an important step to enhance our performance at all levels. First, Otro Capital, RedBird Capital Partners and Maximum Effort Investments, as international players with strong track record in the sports industry, will bring their recognised expertise to boost our media and marketing strategy, essential to support our sporting performance over the long term."

“Second, the incremental revenue generated will in turn be reinvested in the team, in order to further accelerate our Mountain Climber plan, aimed at catching up with top teams in terms of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.”

Formula 1 also mentioned that Alpine's F1 team will not be the only folk seeing improvements...  Alpine's automotive side is looking to use some of that to help make a switch to fully electric sports cars.
