Mercedes making changes to the car before Italy, hoping to gain knowledge

We're now five races into the season and Mercedes is making some upgrades to the car. 

Come next in Emilia, Hamilton and Russell will be racing with technical updates and renewed hope for better outcomes. 

Mercedes-AMG Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff said, "What we're doing is we're introducing a new bodywork... and we're introducing a new floor and we're doing a new front suspension. And that's pretty large. That's a pretty large operation." 

This may bring visual changes to the sidepods-- changes we'll clearly see from the stands, or the couch, but most importantly, it will help the drivers to race more efficiently. 

Wolff says in particular he hopes the changes will help the team to identify the various factors that could be making the current car "poisonous to drive." 

The knowledge there will be what's gained for Mercedes rather than seconds shaved down on the tracks, but we'll see what happens in Imola.

Drivers Reveal Ballin' Custom Helmets for 2023 Miami Grand Prix

The second ever Miami Grand Prix is upon us! And this season's F1 drivers... are steppin' out in style. I can already tell it's gonna be a 'ball'. 😉  Here's some of the designs we've seen so far:  Norris wearing custom beach ball helmet in a pool while holding a beach ball (@LandoNorris) Lando Norris unveiled an on-brand helmet for the weekend with a  video on Twitter  showing the amazing details of the design, making this helmet actually look like a  plastic beach ball!  He knew he'd have to follow h is incredible  custom basketball design for the inaugural Miami GP, and honestly, I think this tops it.  Lando mentioned he had other ideas for the helmet, "like a golf ball," but decided to leave that one to Alex Albon.  Albon revealed his helmet   with a creative video   starring his girlfriend Lily He, who is a professional player on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.  Albon's golf ball helmet for the ...

The Imola Circuit... What we might see next year

After a two-week break, the F1 season was set to continue with a triple-header of back-to-back races. Drivers would have raced the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in the northern Italian city of Imola, but c urrently, the region is seeing devastating weather and as such, the race was officially postponed by Formula 1.  Unlike the temporary circuit we saw in Miami earlier this month, the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari has been a part of F1 since 1980. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because the circuit is named after Ferrari’s late founder Enzo Ferrari. With a track named after the founder of Ferrari, you’d think that the Ferrari team would have some sort of edge, but Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has left his mark in Italy.
